Spelvin is a fast-paced and addictive word game, developed by Skunk Studios, that combines a dynamic gameplay with lovely graphics and catchy tunes in a sort of casino slot layout. The aim of this game is to get the highest score possible by creating valid words with the seven letters given.
What you have to do is simply click on the letters to form words and score pressing the ‘bank’ button. Your score is based on word length and the combination of letters, as each one has a different value. Spelvin offers two game modes: Arcade Mode on the one hand, is an exciting race against the clock as you are asked to reach a preset score per level before the green juice runs out. Strategy mode, in turn, challenges you to create a number of words per level. There is no timer so you can play at ease without any pressure.
When you consider there are no more valid combinations left, you can click the 'spin' button to refresh letters. Moreover, a very interesting feature allows you to hold some letters before spinning, by simply clicking above tiles, which will let you keep vowels and the most used consonants. Once you have finished your game, you can keep track of your progress and also challenge other players around the world to beat your score in the worldwide rank.
The graphics and music are both lovely, very attractive indeed, full of colors and lights. A fully functional version of the game can be played 15 times. All in all, Spelvin is a very enjoyable game to play.
